Hello! I’m Bridget Carlisle, the traveler, storyteller, and creative force behind Wander and Weave, a blog dedicated to exploring the joys of travel—whether through road trips, van life adventures, or uncovering hidden gems. For me, travel isn’t just about checking destinations off a list—it’s about embracing the journey, meeting incredible people, and witnessing God’s handiwork in every twist and turn.
In 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and at the end of 2023, I was laid off from a long corporate career. Those two life-changing moments became turning points. They made me realize that life is too short to keep waiting for “someday.” Instead, I chose to reinvent my future, live with less, and experience more.
Now, let’s get something out of the way—I’m not twenty, I’m not a supermodel, and I definitely don’t wake up looking effortlessly Instagram-perfect. I’m a middle-aged woman who believes it’s never too late to chase your dreams, take the road less traveled, and say yes to adventure. My version of “influencer life” involves comfy shoes and the joy of having my own bathroom on wheels—because avoiding questionable public restrooms is a luxury I fully embrace.
The “Weave” in my brand name, Wander and Weave, represents the stories, tips, and insights I hope will inspire fellow travelers. My blog offers practical travel guides, budget-friendly advice, and personal experiences to make adventure more accessible. But here’s something else you should know about me—I don’t just write about travel, I help others experience it. I’m also a Travel Advisor with Dream Vacations, and my second favorite thing to do—right after traveling myself—is planning unforgettable journeys for others.
